Filmmaker Anushree Mehta, who's regarded for helming Radhika Apte-starrer Mrs Undercover, will now be directing the Hindi remake of the a good deal cherished 1972 classic Bawarchi, initially helmed with the aid of iconic Hrishikesh Mukherjee.The variation of the Hrishikesh Mukherjee directorial will be the primary film out of the 3-film collaboration between Jaadugar Films and Sameer Raj Sippy Productions. They will also remake undying classics like Amitabh Bachchan-Jaya Bachchan starrer Mili (1975) and Gulzar's iconic 1972 drama Koshish.

Anushree described directing the Bawarchi version as a 'kaleidoscopic combination' of being excited, honoured, humbled coupled with the notice of shouldering a 'big responsibility'.

"When my commercial enterprise partner Abir Sengupta (Jaadugar Films), Sameer Raj Sippy and I determined to enroll in palms to supply these three iconic films, we have been clear that we'd go away no stone unturned in remaking them with utmost love and admire. During our discussion on Bawarchi, Abir and Sameer were of the opinion that I must be writing and directing the remake,'' IANS pronounced quoting the director. 

"They were satisfied that I would be able to inform the story in a way which might lead them to proud. We were in sync with our vision and I complete-heartedly agreed to come back board as the author-director," the director introduced.

The OG own family comedy drama featured an ensemble led by using actors Rajesh Khanna, Jaya Bachchan and Asrani among others. Bawarchi was a remake of Rabi Ghosh-starrer 1966 Bengali movie Galpo Holeo Satti by using Tapan Sinha.Talking about preserving the soul of the OG film intact, she similarly brought, "The idea of retelling a movie is to evolve it according to the cutting-edge times and make it greater relatable to the sector we live in these days—whilst preserving the soul and cause of the authentic intact. Since Bawarchi itself became a remake of a Bengali film, Hrishida in his time recreated it and made it relatable to that generation.''
