The sports activities-drama movie become directed by way of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and premiered on 16 July 2021 on Amazon Prime Video.

He will be returning to the director's chair with Jee Le Zaraa starring Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt. Farhan took to Twitter and wrote, "Did a person say avenue experience? Thrilled to announce my next film as director and what higher day than twenty years of Dil Chahta Hai to do it. #JeeLeZaraa with @priyankachopra #KatrinaKaif  @aliaa08 will begin filming in 2022 and I can't wait to get this show on the road." This collaboration is stated to be one of the biggest ever.
